Paid Parent Programs

For Children with Autism & Special Needs, Guide by State:

Arizona – PPCG (Paid Parent as Care Givers Program) – “Parents can be paid for providing Habilitation and Attendant Care services, but not Respite care, to their children.” Go here to learn more.

California – IHSS (In-Home Supportive Services) – “Recent changes in state law and guidance from the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) have made it easier for parents to become IHSS providers for their minor children. This means parents can now be paid for services like personal care, domestic services, and accompaniment to medical appointments, among others. Go here to learn more.

Minnesota – CDCS (Consumer Directed Community Supports) and CFSS (Community First Services and Supports) – These programs allow individuals to self-direct their care, meaning they can choose who provides their care and how it’s delivered. New Parent CNA Program – This program, expected to launch in 2025, will specifically allow parents who are Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to be paid for providing home nursing care to their children through the MFTD Waiver or DSCC Home Care programs.
