Autism Advocating

Hi, I’m Beth! I’m Mama to a sweet, ten-year-old boy with autism.

After he was diagnosed, I had many questions but few answers. I was overwhelmed, confused, and frustrated. I had to figure it out myself.

I started Autism Advocating because I don’t want families to feel isolated and alone — without support or resources.

Being a parent to an autistic child is tough. We want to provide hope and adventure for families.

Our Vision

Support & tools to help you advocate for your child (and yourself).

Autism Advocating Sensory RV is a quiet place to retreat no matter what or where an event takes place. A private bathroom, a quiet room, sensory equipment, space to regulate your body. All the things children with ASD and special needs require to function in our world. Our #1 goal is integration and acceptance! A mobile space for ASD families wherever and whenever they need.

Free-will Donations -

All free-will donations go directly to the purchase of a toy-hauler RV to be transformed into a full-time sensory unit. We currently have swings, fidgets, sensory bins, and fine motor activities. If you are interested in partnering with us to provide sensory equipment, or help in any way, please contact us.

What services will the sensory RV offer?

  • A mobile, sensory break space for events, (both big and small) private and public.
  • Custom Experiences – Example: Day Camping, Dirt Track Racing, etc.
  • Future Expansion to include – On-site therapy (ST, OT, PT, feeding)

Our Why!

As a toddler/preschooler Kaden was not able to interact with his surroundings and others. He was fully engrossed with his iPad that he didn’t engage with his surroundings. He just sat silently so we would take him everywhere. Around the age of 5 and after he entered our world, so we are determined to help him explore and engage with the world in a way he is comfortable.

In 2021, to be successful in taking an extended family road trip from Minnesota to Montana, we rented a drivable RV. It was perfect, we had our own kitchen (very restricted eater), our own bathroom (he had just been fully potty trained during Covid and battles extreme constipation), and we had our own quiet space to retreat to at any point in time during the vacation, no matter where we were. It was AMAZING!!

I prayed for the day to see my son swim in the ocean, go to Disney World, ride on an ATV, and now I can say I have been able to do that. I get to watch him as he watches the world around him when we go down the road. These are priceless experiences that I hope to help provide other children and their families!
